PRP Therapy in West Palm Beach, FL

Locations in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, and Royal Palm Beach

Scientists are constantly discovered new uses for platelet-rich plasma or PRP. Some of the latest uses are dental related, including many of the services provided by South Florida Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for patients in Jupiter, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and other areas in Palm Beach County.

What is PRP Therapy?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy involves using your own blood for dental (enhanced healing) applications. A small sample will be taken and then “spun” in a centrifuge to separate the plasma. This component is then applied to your surgical site to aid with healing. Here at South Florida Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, we often use PRP therapy when performing bone grafts for dental implants, or during more advanced types of jaw repair surgery.

Benefits of PRP Therapy

PRP therapy is extremely safe since it comes from your own body. As such, there is little chance of a reaction, and no need to worry about transmitting blood-borne diseases. PRP therapy has also been known to accelerate your body’s own healing process, and might, therefore, reduce the amount of downtime you experience.

What is the Procedure for PRP Therapy?

All that is necessary is to collect a small sample of blood so that it may be processed. The final product will then be reapplied to the surgical site at the appropriate time during your procedure.

Preparing for PRP Therapy

We ask that you do not donate blood for at least one week before and after any procedure that requires PRP therapy.

Recovery from PRP Therapy

PRP therapy is much like providing a normal blood sample, meaning that little recovery time is required. You may experience some bruising around the donor site, but this should go away on its own within a few days.

How much Does PRP Therapy Cost in Jupiter?

Our benefits coordinator will serve as a liaison between you and your insurance company to determine what if any benefits are available, as well as what your copay and deductible amounts are. Once we have determined your out-of-pocket costs, we will then discuss our many payment options, which include cash, personal check, and major credit cards.

Many of our patients are also able to afford treatment by applying for CareCredit® financing. CareCredit® is in itself a credit card that can be used at leading healthcare providers such as dentists, optometrists, and general practitioners. This makes it a great option if you are considering treatment from more than one provider. Even those with less-than-perfect credit scores are often approved for CareCredit® and are able to obtain payment plans they can easily fit into their monthly budget.

What to Expect During Your Consultation

We will ask about any blood-related disorders you may currently have, as this will let us know whether or not you are healthy enough for a PRP procedure. Please let us know if you are taking any blood-thinning medications or suffer from high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or anemia.

Recovering from major dental surgery is easier than ever, thanks to PRP therapy. To find out if PRP therapy is right for you, please contact us to schedule a consultation if you live in Jupiter, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, or any other nearby area in Florida.
